Description

Yunnan Summer Black is an enticing and aromatic summer harvest tea inspired by Taiwanese artisan tea crafters. This tea is made of Taiwanese Jinxuan tea leaves are grown in Southern China’s Yunnan province during the balmy hot and rainy season. This produces large leaf tea that is rich in sweet flavor with unique characteristics. During the processing, the leaves are regularly turned over and shaken to encourage the withering and oxidation process, it is finished by mildly roasting the leaf to deepen its flavor.

Once steeped, Yunnan Summer Black tea unfurls and welcomes you with an aromatic roasted stone fruit scent, at first sip, you will appreciate the smooth mouthfeel, stone fruit notes and honey pomelo finish. For Taiwanese tea enthusiasts, you will note that our Yunnan Summer Black is similar in character and flavor to our luxury Taiwanese Assam #8 tea, yet much more affordable!

Enjoy Yunnan Summer Black with multiple steeps to fully experience this fine tea.

Very very good black tea. It is somewhat mellow, but that allows you to enjoy complexity of the flavour.

Very interesting and unique black tea. It tastes and smells of summer in a way I can't quite adequately describe, like lush sunkissed foliage after a rainstorm. Almost has a bit of a spicy bite to it. Mineral, somewhat fruity, mildly astringent.. I feel like I'm eating a painting of the landscape the tea was grown in, you can taste the summer in these leaves.

Overall very pleasant and unique tea, would recommend!

When I want a lighter more refreshing tea I go for this one. I get a definite Lychee flavour.

Interesting choice I took. The tea itself smells very much like a rock wulong, mineral aroma with slight citrus peel "zing". The color is a nice deep amber but of course will begin as a more honey gold the first two steeps. No real astringency with this. It is however nice and smooth with the flavor of peach. No strong aftertaste so if you're looking for something strong, this may not be for you. Slight hints of nuttiness and wood, but not at all "sharp". Would not mind purchasing again. Caffeine can be felt but with a gradual sensation. I suggest high volume of leaf for longer sessions and richness. Leaves last about 5 steeps with usual 5g. Not a bad qualitea for the price.
